Abstract

This article presents research results that introduce a theoretical model that evaluates the participation of the social economy in the market economy.

In a preliminary way, the model empirically evaluates data from 2013 and 2016, from market organizations retrieved from the Ipeadata database and from nonprofit organizations retrieved from the Fasfil database.

The results of the empirical evaluation reveal the adequate specification of the model in which the social economy is produced in Brazil, by nonprofit organizations and part of the informal economy, it participates in the market economy with 6.5% in 2013 and 11.6% in 2016.

The research, although preliminary, already signals a contribution to the literature on income distribution in the social economy using data from nonprofit organizations and a contingent of unemployed people in the informal economy.
